{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Daddy and Baby
So, despite the fact that Millie is wearing a onesie that says "Mommy's Little Lamb", she is most definitely a Daddy's girl tonight. Brady had his first day of school last night and I think M was missing him. He and Sneaky Pete were just out for a walk, and when they were coming in the door Millie was lying in my lap and fussing (past bedtime you know). When she heard the door shut she stopped and looked back towards it. I told Brady and to call to her because it seemed maybe she was associating the door noise with him, and when he called her name she started smiling! Daddy is much better at walking/rocking a girl to sleep :)
Another first today, when I went to put Millie down and she (apparently) didn't want me to, she held onto my neck. She's not sitting up on her own yet, but she lifts her shoulders off the ground. When she wants to get up I hold her hands and say "Millie, do you want to sit up?", and if she does she lifts her shoulders and head and tugs at my hands.

4 Month Millie!
Right now Millie is lying on her sheep fleece blanket and cooing at her shiny rainbow mobile. I'm hearing lots of "ahh WOO"s and general throat gurgling, which she thinks is very funny. She just picked up her butterfly toy and tossed him over her head...

Teething, Grabbing, and Reading, oh my!
So it looks like this fourth month of Millie-Bea-ness is all about teething and grabbing. Month one was figuring out nursing, month two was learning to sleep through the night (10 hours now!), month three was talking (which is now talking, mimicking, playing sound games, singing, and laughing out loud :).
Here she is grabbing her butterfly (a gift from Brady's co-worker)
Figuring out how to chew on her freezer-ring (another gift)
Some fist gnawing...
Chewing on Daddy's finger

Yesterday we went to Story Time at the library for the first time. Millie was definitely the youngest there, but much more attentive than some of the kids, haha. She sat in my lap and looked around at the kids jumping and dancing. A little boy brought a stuffed owl toy over to her and tickled her toes with it, which was very funny. We got up and danced when they did songs and she was content the whole time (about 35 minutes... we were late due to an unexpected pig parade before we left the house).
