Our lovely holiday was cut short by a wicked cold that came suddenly Friday night. We think she must have caught something on Wednesday when we were down in NYC for yet another doctor visit.  We were all up during the night, distressed, frantically flipping through "The Baby Book", and generally upset. I don't think we have ever been up that often, even when she was a newborn! (Don't remember? Blocked it out? Possibly... but I really don't think so!) Anyways, it's been 3 long nights and days but hopefully this bad cold is on it's way out the door. My poor lamb has really been feeling rotten, but at least that means extra close snuggles in bed.

I get by with a little help from my friends...

Here is the little flower learning how to crawl, assisted by jelly cat who, as it turns out, is excellent motivation:

Today we are going down to Brooklyn to visit a great baby store, walk in Prospect Park, and pop in on Andrew and Julia + cousin Miller-Elliot who is expected SOON!

Millie just finished her breakfast of oatmeal with bananas and is having a quick pig-nap.

Baby on the move!

Millie has definitely hit a 6 month growth spurt in her development. She sits up all on her own, successfully reaches for objects and pulls them towards herself (usually to chew on), rolls and spins to get where she wants to be, and has crawled a bit (pictures coming soon). She is making lots of new sound combinations, although her favorites remain the same: screaming for fun, making "little bird" noises, and saying "hey, hi, hello".

We have been to many different doctors' offices and hospitals over the last few weeks and everyone new she meets is always very impressed with her strength and control. They comment on her calm and alert personality, and on her cheek chub :) She has been so wonderful taking in all these new places and people. She really enjoys looking at artwork on the walls, touching textures and patterns/colors on furniture or curtains, and giving people her "poker face" look as they ooh and ahh over her.

Yesterday we traveled all the way down to 34th Street in NYC to meet with a third Neurosurgeon, whom we really liked. We still have a couple of hoops to jump through, but we will be sending out an email to everyone soon with updates on Millie's tethered cord situation. After the appointment we were able to visit Daddy's office! Millie was enthralled by the creepy oil paintings and even got to help answer a phone call.

Millie is just waking up from her morning pig-nap. After we freshen up we'll be heading down to the coffee shop for a play date wtih Becca and Adeline.

Shark teeth

Just a quick update since baby girl is sleeping here... our 2 teeth from Sunday have doubled and we almost have 4. Oh boy! Here is Mil chewing on a toy catalog and eating a mini bagel :)

I will update tomorrow with lots of pictures. She seems to have hit a serious 6 month growth spurt as far as her development all around. We had our wellness visit today and she is 75th percentile for head circumference and off the charts for both height and weight. They were very impressed with her teeth.

One more picture... little gnome baby (in her new fleece coat we bought at a great consignment store near Grandma's house last week). I just love this one.

Millie is asleep next to me on the bed. Tonight her daddy rocked her till she was sound asleep, but as usual she woke up when we laid her down. This is a baby who will not be tricked out of bedtime pigs.
